Clean your doubts! Determination of the relationship between a child and an alleged Father.
We are the #1 in Paternity Tests
When looking for DNA testing services for paternity, it is always important to indicate whether or not there is a possibility that there are potential parents involved (i.e. the alleged parents are siblings, father and child, cousins, etc.). If so, all so-called related parents should be tested. Suspected parents who are related have similar DNA, which could lead to an inconclusive outcome or false inclusion. In most cases of paternity testing, the 16 genetic marker panels are more than adequate. However, special circumstances may require protracted evidence to achieve a statistically desirable result. DNA test results often decide the outcome of a paternity test.
The results and conclusions of paternity tests are based on statistics and probabilities. The higher the number of genetic markers examined, the greater the force of genetic evidence and therefore the final result. Sufficient genetic markers should be analysed in relationship tests to routinely obtain a combined paternity index (CPI) of at least 100.
The industry standard is 16 genetic markers, however the use of fewer markers can produce accurate results. 16 marker technology can achieve an identity probability of 1 in 40 quintillons, or 1 in 40.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000
Things to Know About Paternity Tests
99.96% of accuracy, at least .
A paternity test is used to establish a biological relationship between a child and a father. Paternity tests are often tested as a “Duo” or “Trio” test. The child and an alleged father participate in a duo test, while the mother, the child and the alleged father participated in a trio test.
With or without the mother.
While a paternity test can be performed without the mother, we recommend that the mother be included if the alleged parents are related. Including the mother's sample not only acts as a quality and control step, ensuring that the right child has been sampled, but also increases the validity of the family's DNA test.

DNA tests are very accurate. Our laboratory meets and exceeds all standards (AABB). The results of a standard legal paternity test are at least 99.99% probability of paternity for inclusions or 100% certainty of exclusion.
When it is impossible to prove an alleged father, there are more options, paternity can be established indirectly (for example, uncles, aunts, grandparents, siblings…).
A DNA collection is very easy to get. Only with a sterile swab rubbed inside the mouth for 20-30 seconds is more than enough. NY DNA Testing is here to help you!
